I always dreamed of studying and working at ETH Zurich. Now that I’m so close to making that dream come true, I’m delighted.

ETH Zurich is one of the best science hubs globally and a top player in civil engineering. It’s got 22 Nobel Prizes, and the fact that I’m getting in is a big deal for me, even if it’s just a small step for the world.

I spent 9 awesome years in Germany, mostly in Berlin. I had loads of experiences, met great people, and made fantastic memories. Of course, I faced some tough times in those 9 years, but I’m super thankful for everything. Berlin isn’t just a place; it’s where I built a life. I even achieved my dream of working at the Berlin Technical University, teaching – something I’m really passionate about. So, in these past 9 years, there’s been a bunch of learning, work stuff, and personal growth. And now, I’m getting ready for a wholly new adventure.

No Risk, No Fun

I’m not completely leaving Berlin behind, but I’m heading to Zurich for at least a year. That’s the plan for now, but who knows, it might be longer. We’ll see.

Either way, going to Zurich has got me really excited. It’s a positive kind of excitement, like when I set off with my backpack to explore the world years ago. I don’t know exactly what’s coming, but I’m up for the challenge, and it makes me thrilled. Starting fresh, trying new things, learning, and getting better – I have a feeling it’s going to be a wonderful experience. At least, I hope so.

Think of this post as a warm-up. I’ll share the whole process, from moving from Germany to Switzerland to finding a place to stay (still working on that), and what life’s like in Switzerland. I’ll share it all step by step, and I’d love for you to come along on this journey with me. Here’s to a world where dreams come true!

Cheers!
